The stainless steel prevents the heat exchanger from rusting out like we see in so many of our competitor's furnaces, which are made of aluminized steel. The stainless doesn’t rust out and crack like the aluminized steel does. Each furnace also has the Securestart™ silicon nitride igniter. The igniter is the part that replaces the pilot light. The Securestart™ igniter is so tough that we pressed it through a piece of wood and it still works.
